wall

'what do you feel?'
it is a sharpening
a heightening
like a bracing breeze
the wall
calm and cool against her bare skin
against her hands, where he placed them
her face, where he holds it fast
by a fistful of hair
the tightness in the scalp
the ache of her attentiveness
enveloped by his breath
his shoulders
his focus
'i want you to stay here
like this.
tonight, this is your wall
it belongs to you and you to it.'
she presses in closer
eyes resting on the still night outside
he withdraws
enlarging with each step
the reach of her command
he stands, transfixed
held fast in the doorway
as she holds and holds and holds her space
the tension in the muscles
the endurance of her weary feet
the force of her will
it is he
he who is the captive

Kat, you're...kind of an unsettling inspiration. That's not a bad thing. Just mildly terrifying. :)

These days, I'm kind of feeling like that is my job in this world. At least for now.
