Aren't northerners brilliant?
So, one of my fellow volunteers has a most familiar-sounding Manchester accent.
Last night at dinner: "I love funfairs, me. Used to have a job supervising them dodgem cars. But it's all different now, innit? It used to take us three men a whole hour to fold away t' floor at the end of t' day. But nowadays, it's all hydraulics. Twenty minutes and the thing just folds itself away. Brilliant!"
I giggled.
