Some words I could probably say in a church

(should the need arise)

At a Wedding: "I take you to be my wife/husband, to be the mother/father of my children, to be the companion of my house. We will keep together what measure of trouble and sorrow our lives may lay upon us, and we will share together our store of goodness, and plenty, and love."

At a Baptism: "You are baptised with water as a symbol of the common life which is in you, and in the world about you. We welcome you to the community of life on earth, and dedicate you to everything which is beautiful, and truthful, and good."

At a Funeral: "We are glad that you lived, that we saw your face, knew your friendship, and walked the way of life with you. Now in peace and thankfulness we bid you farewell. Your spirit we commit into God's care. Your companionship, your kindly ways and character, your words, and deeds we commit to our memories. Your body we commit to be cremated, and its ashes returned to the earth which bears us all."

Found while looking for a church to recommend to my boss, who is curious. Might pay a visit myself. Though the hymns look embarrassing. I think my congregational singing function may be irreparably broken.

Oooooh... I like so very much. Yeah, I decided yesterday at church that my singing hymns in unison with other people function is borked, too. Oh well. *shrug*
